Is it possible to get greenish metallic paint for my rusty chimnea?

yes, but why, it wont be fire resistant and will just burn off... buy some fire black or red lead... JP1 is a matt black exhaust paint, as is spherex... astleys in coventry used to do a self etching primer, in all primary colours (developed for land rover) i used it on my bike engines... and it didnt blister off...

Spray the whole thing with a product called Kurust and then use a wire brush (if possible the kind that attaches to your drill and rub the whole thing down.


Apply another coat of kurust and then when that is dry you will be able to sand it down and paint it again!

You'll need a paint that can hold up to high temperatures. I'd suggest going to an auto parts store and look for engine paint. Don't know if it will come in the color you want, but there should be some variety of color available. Good luck.
