Unfortunately, sanding out all of the rust on an old car generally leaves places that no longer have any metal left to refinish - and new metal must be welded into place or the panel replaced along with the necessary body work.


Your best bet is to have a couple local body shops give it a good look and you'll get a much better idea as to the cost.
