Has anyone used metallic spray paint?

I am a new homeowner and want to do some improvements...without breaking the bank.

The previous owner LOVED gold. I am a silver person. Rather than purchase all new light switch covers, bathroom hardware, etc.....can I use metallic spray paint?

What has been your experience in using this? Thanks!Has anyone used metallic spray paint?
Krylon makes excellent metallic paints...visit their website to see all the different kinds. They can be used on furniture, to picture frames, plastic items, even hardware, such as handles and chandeliers. You can also use non spray paints, their are wonderful acrylic water base paints that can also be used with a paint brush.

If you need projects ideas to make decorative items yourself visit http://www.miycreations.com , I have many projects where simple items can be transformed with a simple coat of paint!

Have fun with your creations!Has anyone used metallic spray paint?
I have used it. And it works fine for some things. Switch covers? Just did mine. Silver as a matter of fact. Yes ,they do wear off after a few good scouring's, but that also depends on what material you are painting, and how it was prepared. Now if your talking towel bars, you can paint them, but just do the brackets because things that are in constant use will wear faster. Some thing like a towel ring, I would say yes. They paint them to begin with. Most plastics you can paint,as long as they are free from grease ,dirt, and soap scum. Cabinet knobs, it depends how much use they get,and what they are made out of. Just remember to Prepare, Prime, and use an oil based silver paint. Byee
Metallic spray paint. It's not for home decorating. Use this it's called latex paint that will do the job it's non toxic.
dont do it..it will start cracking...it will give a cheesy, fake, cheap look...not the best idea for long term.
