If you want to paint an engine metallic and want it to last the best choice would to have it powder coated. All Components to be powder coated on your engine need to be bare and un-assembled. anyhting that lasts 500+ degrees is good. normal operating temp for an engine should never be more than 215 or so, so 500+ is fine... check duplicolor
