What metallic paint should I use to make a piece of plywood or something similar look as much as possible like stainless steelMetallic paint?
you should first use a filler/primer paint, something that will fill in the voids and give it a smooth look then either spray paint it or brush it, use chrome paint,

Rust-Oleum has stainless steel spraypaint, sold at any home improvement store.
Hammerite it's at Home Depot for sure, I don't know about Lowe's.
