How to paint metallic walls?

I plan on painting my bedroom walls all a metallic silver. I was going to buy Ralph Lauren's Regent Metallic paint, but I have heard that it is very difficult to get a smooth, stroke-less look. So to avoid that problem, I was considering hand rubbing the paint on or using a brush instead of a roller for everything. Would this turn out nice? I would appreciate any preparation tips, painting techniques, ideas, and PICTURES very much! Thanks :)How to paint metallic walls?
Metallic paints are a combination of a base medium, color tint, and fine metal particles. As in strong colors such as red, the base medium has little pigment so that the color and metal particles are not dulled. This type of paint is very nearly a glaze wherein the base medium has no pigment. Most light-colored paint has lots of white pigment in the base with strong colored pigment added to create the desired tint. In reading about applying red paints many people suggested a base coat of gray or yellow. More than one coat of paint was often necessary as well. However, the usual problem with metallic paints is a buildup of extra product where strokes overlap each other. The first link below gives information on methods of application to avoid the problem. The other links just give more info on metallic paints.
