Rahimi if you had been listening to your course tutor you would know the answer to the questions you are asking!A customer has had his car keyed on the passenger door.the paint finish is metallic.describe a method of rect-?
Well...shouldn't he be calling the police about it instead?

LOL paint over it?!
first seek revenge... baseball bat the little sucker...

and now back to the programme...

first DA the whole panel, its metallic, so blending is a nightmare... easier to spray the whole panel and polish the adjoining ones... or its going to look shi t.

mask up...

use a 160grit to start, and goto about a 320, tack rag the panel... primer the panel, flat it with 400, by hand! (let it dry for an hour or so, and GENTLY with lots of soap and water, flat it... wash it, and dry it... (use hard soap on the flatting paper, NOT fairy liquid in the water)

spray basecoat, abd flat again, and spray the colour... and laquer and polish again...

if you use cellulose it will require a polish afterwards to get rif of any overspray... 2 packs dont require polishing afterwards... but.. its all in the prep... its got to be flat... no ripples, no nothing... or itll stand out the moment you hit it with some colour...
remove ext trim from door and adjacent panels,da scratch out with 320 then da rest of door and adjacent panels with 800disc on an interface pad, without breaking through the lacquer, grey scotch areas that can not be sanded with the da.mask door prime repair.flat out primer with 400 da disc then 800 if silver.panel wipe mask panel wipe again mix base coat and apply as data sheet making a blend into adjacent panels.finsh with lacquer, bake, polish, fit up trim.
how big is the scratch?

use cutting compound?
Rectification? It's called a paint job.
